What made you realize that you needed a healthy lifestyle change?
I think that comfort was a major factor. I actually felt really uncomfortable, but I didn’t want to admit it. My body didn’t feel good to me, but I never felt like doing anything about it. Of course, it was because I was eating a lot and not moving much.
What made you feel uncomfortable in your body?
At some point, I realized that I became out of breath quickly and couldn’t get my act together. My family, especially my husband and mom, often pointed out to me that my attitude was starting to be a bit much. I was very offended, even though I saw it myself. Now, in retrospect, I am grateful for their honesty.
Was there a key moment that led you to start with Gymondo?
It started when I was constantly reminded of my figure. My hairdresser told me the haircut I wanted wouldn’t look good on such a round face. But the worst thing was a day out on my father’s boat. My sister and sister-in-law both looked great in their bikinis and I felt like a real whale.
What was your first positive experience with Gymondo?
It started early on as I lost weight fast. That was the nicest thing. With the first workout, I realized that this was something I could pull off because the trainers, even though they were not really in front of me, simply drew me in. Really excellent. 🙂
Were there any setbacks or moments of doubt?
No. In fact, it worked well from the beginning and still does. I’ve continued to lose weight and I’ve never really doubted what I was doing, unlike with other programs. After three weeks with them, I wouldn’t feel like doing it anymore because all I had was the feeling of starvation and nothing else.
Was there a moment of happiness when you realized it was worth it?
Yes, my first weight goal. I really wanted to lose 20 pounds by our big vacation in December 2018. And I did it!
How did friends and relatives react to your change?
Their reactions have been unbelievably great. I always get compliments from everyone and I secretly enjoy that! Every single person is so proud of my success, and that really helps to keep me motivated. Also, many of them have been so motivated by my progress, that they want to change and start training as well!
Was there anything that motivated you to stick to your goal?
Yes. I wanted to like myself again. I wanted to go shopping again without having to go home empty-handed. In the past, I would always try on clothes and put them back straight away because rarely anything fits me. Shopping is so much more fun now and I feel very comfortable.
How long did it take to reach your goal? What were your results? How often do you work out each week on average?
I really started in July 2018. I weighed 174 at the time. By early December 2018, I was 146. It didn’t take too long. I did not go hungry and, in fact, I ate everything I wanted, even snacks. I worked out 5 to 6 times a week.
What has changed in your life since your transformation?
I feel good. I’m wearing dresses and high heels again. I also feel more balanced and relaxed thanks to exercising. That’s a real positive side effect!
Many people want to achieve results like yours. What’s your advice to them?
“Keep going and never stop thinking about your goal; only then will you reach it…” I don’t normally like corny sayings like this, but this one really sticks with me. One mustn’t forget why you’re doing it and for whom. First and foremost, you should always do it for yourself. In my case, I needed the outside push, though.
Do you have a final goal you’re pushing for at present?
Yes, I would like to reach 137 and maybe even get a mini six-pack. I wouldn’t mind slimming down my thighs a bit while I’m at it. 🙂
